Who we are
Young Musical Minds works with primary schools across London to make music lessons as accessible as possible. We develop children's musical ability & confidence through fun, engaging, and innovative individual, paired and group music lessons.
Our lessons are more affordable than many music providers whilst offering free Pupil Premium spaces to eligible pupils so everyone gets to take part!
SEND pupils and accessibility
We recognise that not every pupil learns in the same way and that’s why at Young Musical Minds we do our best to provide support to make lessons accessible for SEND pupils. We do this by working closely with SEND pupils and getting to know them and their needs so that we adapt lessons in a way that works for them.
Ways we can support Send pupils:
Visual and aural teaching - Learning by ear and demonstration/copying. We understand that traditional music teaching methods are not always suitable for every child.
Accessible instruments - Colour coded guitars and pianos.
Working with schools - Taking on board and listening to school guidance.
our founder
Besides being our founder, Tom Radcliffe is an experienced teacher and musician. He has taught extensively across London primary schools and holds a degree in guitar performance from BIMM London as well as having been accepted to study a masters degree at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As well as running Young Musical Minds, he still teaches across various London primary schools and also teaches privately.
